One of Torgersens’ four key values is to be supportive – putting people at the heart of everything we do. In line with this, we help three charities in the region – one in each of our office locations.

In our Jarrow community we support Cancer Connections, an organisation that helps families affected by cancer. We were very pleased to make a donation to support the great work undertaken by the charity. However, our assistance is not just financial. Jonathan Carroll, who is manager of our Jarrow office, has been Treasurer of Cancer Connections since 2015.

In Gosforth, we are part of St Oswald’s Hospice’s Better Together Business Club where our membership contributes to the salaries of two hospice nurses. St Oswald’s is a charitable hospice providing specialist care to adults and children with life-limiting conditions.

This year, our Sunderland charity is 4Louis who support anyone affected by miscarriage, stillbirth or the death of a baby or child by providing bereavement rooms and a growing range of beautiful memory boxes. Our donation will go towards providing memory boxes in hospitals. Watch the video of our recent visit to the 4Louis team here.

In addition, this year, our Sunderland colleagues donated over 40 Christmas presents to FISCUS, a charity that is distributing close to 700 gifts to children, OAPs and the homeless.

We are proud to support the amazing staff and volunteers at these charities. Thank you and a very happy Christmas!
