We recently visited 4Louis, a Sunderland-based charity that works across the country to support anyone affected by miscarriage, stillbirth or the death of a baby or child. It also enhances the care that bereaved families receive from health care and other professionals.
4Louis is a huge community of caring people that supports others in similar situations. Fundraising events allow the charity to provide bereavement rooms and a growing range of beautiful memory boxes. In addition, the charity supports recently bereaved families and hospitals with essential equipment such as cuddle cots and cuddle blankets.
We were made aware of the amazing work carried out by the charity by one of our colleagues and we wanted to see how we could help. Our donation of £250 will go towards providing memory boxes in hospitals.
Parents suffering the loss of a baby or child need to be supported with compassion, empathy and care. The memory boxes that 4Louis provides offer a special way for bereaved families to store meaningful items and remember their baby.
