Initially, taxpayers had until 5 April 2023 to top up any missing national insurance years going back to 2006. The deadline was extended to 31 July 2023 (as detailed in our April blog) and now, with an extension until 5 April 2025, the heat is off for pension savers to check their records and pay any voluntary contributions.

  • obtain a state pension forecast
  • decide if making a voluntary National Insurance contribution is worthwhile for you and your pension
  • find out how to make a payment
